Experience
Joe has spent over 25 years leading and coaching individuals and sports teams. He strives to transmit to others the beauties of discipline, trust, responsibility, accomplishment, and fun. Joe started coaching basketball at the age of 18 with St. Anthony’s Church (Oceanside, NY), and returned to coach football with his hometown Oceanside Stallions Athletic Club.
Joe has also guided high school age and older students through strength-training programs at Iron Island Gym. Seeking to challenge himself to improve his “personal best,” Joe was a competitive powerlifter for three years throughout Long Island and the New York metropolitan area. He worked with the Cardiovascular Fitness Unit of the New York Police Department at One Police Plaza, NYC.
His focus on fitness assessments and blood pressure readings have enabled dozens of police officers start on the path to better health by reducing their weight, lowering their blood pressure, and setting fitness goals. He has been a personal fitness trainer to individual clients for the past 14 years.
Philosophy and Approach to Fitness
Joe values integrity, hard work, and striving for excellence. He brings a meticulous focus on form so that clients can avoid injury while enjoying exercise and its benefits. He is skilled in fitness training and evaluation, exercise program and training session design, and client education on training techniques. The dedicated trainees who want to make positive changes to their health and lifestyle are an ideal fit for Joe’s background and style of training.
